So we put together a basic guide on how to create a kawaii desk.
1 Choose a Color Scheme for your kawaii setup
Sticking to a Color Scheme will make it easier to choose the right accessories and will prevent you from shopping around and getting items that just look kind of “off” in your whole setup.
There are many different options for choosing colors for an office space, but one of the most popular ones is based around baby pink. Pastels are a good choice for any design in this category. A combination of a few can also work well. Lilac, sky blues, and soft yellows all work really well for the color scheme, as well as the classic pinks. Choose one main color as the central focus and then choose a few accent colors you could use for accessorizing your desk.
Remember, Kawaii doesn’t have to be exclusively soft and girly. It can also go for a darker, moodier color palette if that’s your preference. There are even some famous characters in the genre that seem almost creepy but stay cute at the same time! Your individuality is important when setting up Kawaii desks, so let your creativity run free.
2 Select a few kawaii statement pieces
Start by selecting your cute statement pieces. In other words, choose a few items to center the whole kawaii desk design around. It could mean a customized computer monitor, a piece from an artist or illustrator, a plush toy, or some custom lighting. Honestly, the only limit is how creative you want to be. After you’ve got your big ticket items, think about what else you’d like to add. You might have some anime figurines or cute animal stickers you’d like to display.
